FAQ & Privacy

Trust, security, and how the platform works.
Privacy & Security
How anonymous is my data, and do you store or share my financial information?
We operate on a "Zero-Knowledge" architecture. The Wealth Engine does not ask for your name, physical address, or SSN. Your session is tied to a temporary, anonymous ID (UAID) that autosaves your progress in the background. If you voluntarily provide an email address, it is used strictly for delivering your PDF report or requested updates.
Do you require sensitive financial details like my exact mortgage rate?
No. The WE platform uses a baseline calculation to estimate the principal versus interest split. For maximum accuracy, you always have the option to manually adjust the principal amount to match your exact loan statement. You never need to connect a bank account or input identifying loan numbers to get a highly accurate audit.
Platform Mechanics & Value
I’m not planning to move. Is there still value in using a location‑based tool?
Absolutely. Even if you stay put, you are subject to "Invisible Inflation" through local tax hikes, property reassessments, and shifting municipal burdens. The Wealth Engine acts as an annual forensic checkup to ensure your current cash flow is optimized for the exact tax climate you live in right now.
How do you grade a location? (What do the badges mean?)
We evaluate your exact municipality across 8 cost categories. To make the data actionable without needing spreadsheets, we award badges based on relative regional cost:
  • Gold: Top 25% of locations (highly cost-efficient or providing the most value, such as highly rated schools).
  • Silver: The regional average.
  • Bronze: Premium (higher relative cost).
This gives you an instant read on your local tax climate.
What does a Gold, Silver, or Bronze badge mean for my decisions?
Badges translate raw data into instant decision signals. A Gold Foundation badge means your municipality's property-tax-related costs rank in the top 25% most efficient across the Tri-State region. Silver means your costs are near the regional average. Bronze means your location carries a premium relative cost in that category—worth investigating whether the trade-off (better schools, shorter commute) justifies the price. Badges are computed independently for each of the 8 cost categories, so the same ZIP code can be Gold in one dimension and Bronze in another.
Does the platform account for future changes in taxes, or is it based only on current law?
The WE app is calibrated strictly to the 2026 Fiscal Year. We hardcode current statutory law—including the $176,900 FICA wage base and upcoming state tax adjustments—so you are auditing your current reality, not predicting the future. We regularly update our database to reflect verified future tax law changes as they are passed.
Subscriptions & Roadmap
What is the difference between the Free tier and the Pro version?
The free tier is a robust, complete audit. You can run your numbers, see your exact buckets, get your baseline location scores, and generate your final PDF report using our trusted regional averages. The Pro version (available for a nominal fee) unlocks complete customization and the ability to resume your saved audit for up to 14 days. It allows you to override municipal averages and fine-tune the underlying local variables to match your exact, unique financial footprint, while also providing your customized PDF report.
What is the Executive Dossier and how do I get it?
The Executive Dossier is a 4-page PDF summarizing your complete audit: income waterfall, tax breakdown, spending buckets, savings targets, and your location's Gold/Silver/Bronze badge scores. You can download it instantly or have it emailed to you—no account required. The free tier generates a full Dossier using trusted regional baselines. The Pro version includes your customized overrides and fine-tuned municipality data. Relocator audits generate a separate Relocator Dossier focused on the side-by-side comparison.
I rent, and I want to compare locations. Can I do that?
Yes. The Relocator Module is live and available now from the homepage. It lets both renters and homeowners compare two ZIP codes side-by-side across tax burden, housing costs, and state-level financial dimensions. Select the "Relocator" tab on the homepage, enter your origin and destination ZIP codes, set your shared household income, and choose whether you own or rent at each location. The tool generates a dedicated Relocator Dossier—a separate PDF report focused on the financial comparison between the two locations. The baseline comparison is free. Deep forensic auditing and custom lifestyle data are available via the All Access unlock.
